Why Double Spaces Appear

Text copied from PDFs, Word documents, or email clients frequently arrives with extra spaces embedded between words. Does it remove all extra spaces?

Will it affect single spaces between words?

No. Only double or multiple consecutive spaces are affected. Correct single spaces between words and after punctuation are left exactly as they are.
