Overview

At ClearText Editor, we believe that privacy is the ultimate luxury. Our commitment to your security is built into the very architecture of our application. We don't just protect your text and files — we ensure we never have access to them in the first place.

Data Collection

ClearText Editor collects as little as possible:

• No Accounts: You don't need to sign up, log in, or provide an email address.
• Analytics: We use Google Analytics 4 and Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page visits. Google Analytics sets cookies (_ga and _ga_*) in your browser. These services receive the page address and basic technical data such as browser type and approximate location. They never receive the text or files you work with.
• No Cloud Storage: We do not operate any databases or cloud servers to store your content.

Localized Storage & Security

Your writing belongs to you. Every character you type is processed and stored locally in your browser's storage (LocalStorage).

• Device-Only: Your drafts never leave your device.
• Total Privacy: Your work is invisible to hackers, third parties, and even to us.
• Self-Managed: You have full control. If you clear your browser data, your drafts are removed instantly.

Text Metrics

All metrics (Word Count, Reading Time, Speaking Time) are calculated purely on the client side. No data about your writing is ever transmitted to an external server.

Analytics and Cookies

We use Google Analytics 4 and Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page visits. These services receive the page address and basic technical data such as browser type and approximate location. They never receive the text or files you work with.

• Google Analytics 4 sets two cookies in your browser, _ga and _ga_3P7GYQ0FQQ, which expire after about 13 months.
• Cloudflare Web Analytics does not set cookies. It records the page address and page-load timings.
• Your text is not a cookie. Tools that remember your last text keep it in your browser's LocalStorage, which is never sent to us or to these services.

Advertising

No advertisements are currently displayed on ClearText Editor, and no advertising service such as Google AdSense is loaded. If advertising is added later, this policy will be updated before it starts.
