PDF to CSV Converter Online
Extract tables from PDF bank statements and convert them to clean, structured CSV — directly in your browser, with nothing uploaded anywhere.
How It Works
ClearConvert reads the text layer of your PDF using JavaScript running entirely on your device. It detects table structure by analyzing the horizontal position of each text item, groups them into logical rows, and maps them to a standard set of columns: date, description, debit, credit, balance, counterparty, and reference.
The result is a clean CSV file you can open immediately in Excel, Google Sheets, or any accounting software — no manual cleanup required for most standard bank statement formats.
Automatic Format Detection
Bank statements vary widely in how they format dates and numbers. ClearConvert automatically detects the format used in your PDF and converts it consistently:
- Date formats: DD.MM.YYYY, MM/DD/YYYY, DD/MM/YYYY, DD MMM YY, YYYY-MM-DD
- Number formats: 1,234.56 (EN/US), 1.234,56 (EU/DE), 1 234,56 (FR)
- Single-amount columns: some US banks use one Amount column with +/− values instead of separate Debit/Credit columns — handled automatically
Supported Banks
The parser includes profiles for over 30 major banks across the US, UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, and Serbia. Recognised institutions include Chase, Bank of America, HSBC, Barclays, NatWest, Deutsche Bank, Commerzbank, BNP Paribas, Intesa Sanpaolo, Santander, and others. For banks not in the profile list, the tool falls back to automatic heuristic detection.
Your financial data never leaves your browser. No server receives your PDF. No data is stored or logged anywhere.
What file types are supported?
The PDF to CSV converter works with text-layer PDFs — the type produced when a document is exported digitally from banking software. Scanned or image-only PDFs are not supported because they contain no extractable text. If your PDF was produced by scanning a paper statement, you will need to run OCR on it first.
What columns does the CSV contain?
The output CSV contains seven columns: date, description, debit, credit, balance, counterparty, and reference. This structure covers the fields present in the vast majority of bank statement formats worldwide and maps cleanly to most accounting and budgeting tools.
Is this tool free?
Yes, completely free with no account required, no file size limit beyond what your browser can handle, and no watermarks on the output. Open the tool and convert immediately.
